Just off King Street is the Romantic eighteenth century tree line promenade, known as New Walk, which leads to one of the several extensive parks within the city boundaries. Half way up New Walk is the Leceister Museum and Art Gallery, which contains painting and watercolors of the English School and a group of paintings by the German Expressionists.
